I think I may have discovered how to permanently fix/modify the Falcon's power windows so they wont be so prone to breaking.
I was about to install a 2nd hand power window into my car and noticed the end of the cable was starting to pull through he plastic bit on the bracket that attaches to the window. Now its only doing it on the one direction (up), as the most load is put onto it since its fighting gravity. (explains why 99% of broken Falcon power windows can lower but not raise) So I found a fix, I have custom made a washer that goes between the end of the cable and the plastic piece, and this will stop the cable from pulling through the plastic bit! All you need is a dremel and a thin (1mm or so) strip of metal. Pics

Yep, heard of the before. Not sure whether theres not already a doco for it in the technical section?

another good idea is keep the graphite powder up to the window tracks.. stops the load on the windows becoming so high

so does this mod really work over an extended period of time and are the U power mindow systems or just the motors better then the ones prone to breaking in the EF/EL series

funnily enough if you buy a power window repair kit you get one of those peices to put in - I have two in my car !!!

Punch out the centre of the rivet. If you hit it right it will only take 1 or 2 hits, then drill the rest of it out.
You cant drill through it while the centre bit is still in it, im not sure what its made of but its fricken hard. Got to the wreckers and get 12 of those short black bolts that hold the rest of the regulator in (any Falcon will have them) and 12 nuts that hold the door handles in and the front regulators. These are gold. Use these to secure the regulators where the rivets once were. They are the perfect size. Or you could just re-rivet them back in.

They're a 6mm rivet, you are going to need a beefy riveter to use them. I priced one once it was over $200, way too much for 3 rivets better off using 6mm bolts.
