Where do you get the white globe holders from to be able to replace the blue ones with the fixed globes?

i had bought some blue globes thinking they would shine through alright, f**k was i wrong, so dull didn't shine through at all and couldn't see my speed

But i got a 10pk of T5's off e-bay and just used pliers to pull the blue globes out the back and bent the little legs on the T5's and slid them into the holders for the blue globes i bought

They were black holders and work well. but does any one know of a good way to get the lights evenly spread?

It's blotchy as...

Ahh you'll have to shuffle around your globes in the cluster, there should be enough of the replaceable type in your cluster to do the backlighting. Check to see if the lights for the warning lights are the removable type.
I've done 4 or so and theres been enough in each cluster to do the backlighting and odo, after some shuffling.

A-Bone, as per pm theres something not right if its blotchy, I'd say if you didnt sand the heads down they are turning off, I found that when the cluster was put back together and they werent sanded back, the clear thick plastic part that sits over the led presses on the led which causes it to turn off as it loses contact with the board.
I'd put money on some of them not being on ifs its blotchy.

I found the exact same problem as KrisisDog mentioned, the LED's sat too tall inside the cluster and were hitting on the clear lenses they shine into. Definitely sand the tips back a bit and also make them flat, helps disperse the light a bit better.

Here's a couple ones I've done for my EF, sorry for the crap quality pic's..

Blue LED's, std orange globes behind the LCD (EF dials)

That looks excellent, I have a dash in my new NL that has blue LEDs in it already and they are a little too dark for my liking, cant really see the fuel guage at night. I might change to white LEDs to get the brightness back.

Yep, those will work fine. I had a set of those in mine cluster, but needed to 'mod' them slightly so that they didn't hit on the plastic lens inside the cluster as they were a little too long once seated in the bulb holders. I just sanded back the tips of the LED's slightly and cut away a bit of blue housing at the bottom so that it sat lower in the bulb holder and it was fine.

You could also buy {DESCRIPTION} which replace the original bulb holder altogether and have the LED's pre-mounted in place. They work well, just need to frost the tips of the LED's to disperse the light a bit more

You will need 6 to do the cluster lighting, one for odo, one for demist, one for clock/two for trip...

Hey Krisdog, did you say how many you needed for the temp controls/AC switches?
Looks like you've used some white leds in there, which I prefer the look of.
I was also going to do the indicators with white too, haha :P
