Hi i have been looking around and found out how to remove the ICC from the dash but i wanted to know If everything can be removed from the plastic cover of the ICC, Aircon Controls, CD player, buttons etc.. I want to get it painted to match the colour of the car.
Also is it safe to do? Any help would be great. Thanks. |

Yes... Is very safe to do.
Just don't drop it and remember where everything goes back. All the stuff is only screwed to the back of the ICC. Also, when you remove the LCD display, make sure you don't turn it over, or all the liquid will run out of the screen. This = bad, then no working. |

on the topic of pulling icc's to bits, in my car i have an xr icc with a somewhat dodgy screen. when it lights up the screen has some odd markings on it, it almost looks like something has been spilled on it, but its actually inside the screen and only displays when the screen lights up. im thinking maybe the icc came out of a rolled xr and the tipping motion has affected the screen? is it possible to replace just the screen without too much drama? will it need to be coded in by ford or will the icc work when put back in? or would it be eaiser/cheaper to replace the whole icc and get it recoded?
