I purchased a set of plus 50 H1 globes a year ago an fitted them to my car an was very pleased with the difference in light output, but the other night i noticed one wasnt workin. I pulled it out and it was blown. I found this to be very poor as globes usually last a long time and especially when they are $40 globes. I then left work today to be told that one of my headlights doesnt work so i checked it out and the other one had blown.
Anyone else experienced globes blowing so quickly. I drive everywhere with my lights on but still they barely lasted!

$40 for narva 50plus is damn expensive.

check for vibrations in the lamp assembly, voltage fluctuations aswell.

I had my lights upgraded by my Auto electrician, and he put extra fuses and relays in to keep the heat down. I am of the understanding that you can't just shove a higher output bulb in to replace the standard ones.

It's the same wattage ... so no difference in current running through the wiring.

The majority of failures are due to vibration ... I get the same thing ... although i live on rougher country roads ... I always drive with low-beam on.

My Narva Plus 50's last me about 9 months (50,000km) before I ahve to replace them.

Also the Plus 50 is not a "longlife" globe like your standard globes ... they do burn bright ... and will fail earlier due to this.

I get the H1 for my projectors in the twin blister pack for around the $40 mark (that's 2 globes though) ... I always have a spare around when i need it.

this might sound a little sily, but did you touch the globe with your fingers?? i have had the same globes + navara +30s in my 91 eb fairmont for about 3 years now, i learnt through experience that the oil on your skin does'nt react well with headlight globes... i hope this helps
cheers gsbloke
