Did the BA MK2 XR6 come with a pollen filter? and if so is it hard to get to?
the inlaws just got a XR6 second hand and the A/C seems to smell really bad for a car with only 14 000km.

it wasnt standed you had to option it
my ba mk2 xr6t hasent got it but you can still buy one and fit it to see if it makes it better.
my old lancer had a bad smell like that if you stopped the car with the a/c on and then left the car over night .

might have to tell them to buy one and have a good look in there to make sure nothing has caught up and died in there.. its probly the reason why the previous owner sold the car.

Hi

They come standard with a gauze filter. To replace it you remove the glove box. The filter holder is then visible. Slide it sideways a little and then reemove it. It quite likely has a lot of rubbish on it.

yep i found it, thanks Roth, its in the same place as my sonata. and its only a gauze mesh only had a few small leaves in it but still dosent explain the stench. will tell them to get a filter put in anyway.
