I'm installing a genuine power antenna into my GLi, I have been lucky with the other upgrade (trip computer, Cruise etc) that the wiring has been there (ex-chaser might help), but I've just found that the wiring for the actual antenna power plug isn't there, not that I can see, I've got the switch and it's plug was there, so I guess all I need is which wires/pins from the BEM?? to the antenna.

You are going to need the high series BEM to drive the antenna, you are probably (as you are discovering) going to need to run a few wires as well.

running wires isn't a problem, might just rig it up via the cd player, even though I've got the button all ready wired in, the plug was already there.

What colour are the wires going to the switch, maybe just follow them or get a copy of the wiring diagram
, but I think you will need a high series BEM as this is controlled from the bem. :D

afte skimming the how to, looks like the switch alone won't do, it's only a one way switch, strainge the wiring is there for it, can't see where it goes, cos it dissappears into the loom, the plug has the wires for power, lights, dimmer and a grey one I guess goes to the BEM, I have a blue BEM by the way, what version is that, what would happen if I jsut wired up the the correct plugs and connected tehm to the antenna.

The plug you used for the half height switch is most likely wrong:

I got it wrong first time too . . .

There was a plug in unit for low/mid series - Ford Electrical Aerial Control Kit part number EF18W813A, that would raise/lower the antenna, it didn't use a dash half height switch.
Unfortunately, the unit is NLA from Ford.
In the antenna install doco, there are some suggestions on how to wire it up.

I've just decided on the 3 position switch, it's the easiest way to do it, don't want to fry my BEM by stick wires in the plug hole and across to the antenna, just need to find a nice looking switch and a place to put it.
