The missus went out in the wagon today, put the drivers side window down and now the f**k won't come back up. No noise from motor.....nothing, zilch, nada. Cleaned switch in centre console, still nothing, pulled the door skin off, seems to be some modification to the wiring......won't get into that now  Other 3 windows are working fine.
Firstly, yes I used the friggin search, so don't even mention that.
Now, as some of you know, the wagon has had the interior upgraded to EF/EL. Problem I have found is this. Wiring inside the door on the loom end is Yellow and Red. Yellow is getting 12V when you push the button down. Red is getting nothing when button pushed up or down :?
Now here is what has stumped me. At the connector to the motor loom, Yellow (wiring loom) is connected to Red (motor loom). Red (wiring loom) is connected to Blue (motor loom).
I figured that I could just plug the yellow wire into the blue and get the window to go up by pushing down on the switch.....following me so far :? Nothing
Hoping to get this sorted tonight as I am going away for work for a couple of days and missus needs the wagon to get around.
Cheers,
Mick

Thanks Troy, I was wondering that. I have a s**t load of EB/NC spares, but no EF. Got my DC one right here I have stashed away in the cupboard, back soon

BenJ just sent me message saying he had the same problem, but it was a broken wire in the loom, hope it's not that :(

Just a question, I noticed the top of the motor has a little allen key grub screw. If you loosen that, can you manually run the window up by hand???

Nope, same result. Not the switch.

Thinking the motor might be screwed, the other windows make the "clunking" noise when you control them in either direction........not a single peep out of the drivers door in either direction.

Am I right in assuming that 12V to yellow makes window go down and 12V on Red wire makes window go up? (wiring loom colours that is :?

A few more pic's I took the other night, hopefully one of you guys that have done the EF/EL conversion on the boxcars can shed a little light on why all of this cabling is just laying in the bottom of the door skin.
Current problems:-
1) Drivers door window has just failed in the down position
2) Door does not unlock/lock with central locking, only manually with the key
3) Interior lights not coming on when car locked and handle pulled up

I assume this is the switch that turns the interior lights on when handle pulled?
Image
and these are probably the wires that I found laying in the bottom of the door
Image
This connector is on the same end as the previous wires, no Idea what it's for???
Image
Image
again, no idea what these 2 wires are for, connector may shed some light?

I have a couple more, but this is a start. Gunna tackle the wiring issues tomorrow, just thought I should ask for a little heads up

busy with work mate, hopefully I will sort it all out tomorrow. I have a parts car here with full working electrics, but not sure if the DC parts will work since the wagon has had the EF/EL interior conversion.

This is what's currently being used for the central locking
Image
and the motor for the electric locking seems to be an addition (shown here in the bottom right of the pic)
Image
I will know more once I start pulling the DC apart to retrieve the working motor and wiring loom if needed. Something else to compare to always helps.

and these are probably the wires that I found laying in the bottom of the door
THEY PLUG INTO THE ABOVE BLOCK, SO HENCE NO KEY SURROUND AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WHEN HANDLE IS LIFTED.

YELLOW IS BATT 12V, BLACK IS EARTH.

im not 100% certain but does your car have the door locks that light up,i think the grey plug is for the light around the lock.

Thanks SNAP, I knew someone on here would have the answers.

not 100% sure about the door lock lights Pete, probably did have them when it was a stock ED monty ghia, but probably a lost function with the upgrade
