I want to put rear power windows in my el xr6, it already has front .
I have the cup holder switches , body loom and window motors . My question is instead of swapping body looms . Which to me is a big job. Can I butcher the body loom and cut the power window plugs, wiring etc and splice it into my existing power window loom .? I am aware that I will have to rip up the carpet and run the wires down to the rear windows .

Im not sure here but, the harness may be there already??
For instance my missus car (EF GLI) had wiring for the clock, so all we had to do it wack it in place of the pannel.. I was going to investigate this for my Futura as it also only has front power windows.. Cheers

I'll take the door trims off and check if there's a plug for the p/w motors .
I think what I'll do is cut the main p/w plug off, splice on the new plug with 12 pins. Then run the extra wires for the rear motors .

i got told on boosted falcons that some el gli's came out with the wiring loom for front windows but mine didnt altho it has the wiring for a clock i just had to plug one in, but i have a trip computer so i have to add the wires, might just look at the fairmont loom for the trip computer and throw that in one day
the only way you can find out if yours has the wiring for the rear is have a look yourself maybe they snuck the rear wiring in your car

I dont think I have had my rear trims off. I hope the plug Is there .
If it's not I can put the p/w loom on as they have a plug before the door. Then I'll just have to run 3 wires to the console .

Good idea . Thanks I'll do that . Will be much easier .

Inserting the extra pins is the most neatest way.
You don't pull the rear door trims to check - you pull the grommet in the body pillar where the rear door looms go into. Check the blue plug for the extra wires - base models are 3 wires, PW models are around 6 from memory on the body side plug.
