Well, this week I finally got in and did the Power Window swap.

My old (now dead) EBII Fairmont was the donor vehicle, and I the new (well for me anyway) EB GL got the goods.

My GL was factory optioned with Cruise, so I was lucky to find the P/Window loom already fitted under the carpet.

It still was a big job, as I had to strip 8 doors of their door trims, wiring looms, regulators and glass and then swap components into the other cars.

All up it took around 9 hrs, including cleaning the GL doors as the dust in there was incredible. I had already fitted the fairmont console when I put the seats in, so I just had to screw the switch panel into place.

Very happy with the outcome, as I hated winding the windows up manually and the winder handle was in just the wrong place for my knee.

and when frank says something is a pain in the rear end you better take his word for it...

lol, lucky you when i did mine, i seperated the power window wiring from the loom of the donor car, all ready to go into mine, (it took about 4 hours) guess what? my car has factory cruise aswell so all the wiring was already there, damn was i p****d.

Damn!!! I would have been a tad upset too.

Anyone know the best way to clean Fairmont Door Cards? Mine are a bit grubby. I am hoping I can just steam clean them at a Car Lovers type place.

i used some polyglaze interior cleaner on my Ghia door trims, just spray it on and wipe it off after like fifteen seconds, works a treat!
