Hey all,
Just a quick question, I replaced the power window motor in the drivers side back door in my EL Fairmont, before I installed it I hooked it up and tested that it worked (which it did) but once I put it in it doesn't seem to work at all.. So I took it out and again it worked when it was out but refused to work once I put it back in. I checked the cables and there are no points where they may be pinched or anything so I'm not sure.. and I don't have a DMM to go through the cables individually.

Anyone know what may be causing this?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Did you test the original motor out of the car ? If it is OK then you have a switch / wiring fault. For about $ 10 I would buy a cheap Multi meter to test it. Look where the cable runs into the door, this the most likely place for it to fail.

Have you applied 12v to the motor plug while it's fitted in the car ??
