Hi all, this is my 1st post so pls b gentle with me!!
I have an ED Futura with manual windows & would love to have power jobs, at least in the front. Can they b converted relatively easily & if so, how? There appears to be looms going to each door. |

i think Futuras actually had the power window loom installed, but still had manual windows. IIRC, you can just gt all the regulators and switches and install them, plug in and away you go.

I imagine i'll also need to swap my console for one with the switches & loom which will need to b wired in somewhere? Or is there another way??

Yeah, can be done. Easy as. Took me a couple of days to do a full power window conversion in mine.
If you can get hold of the whole floor pan loom it'll make life sssooooooo much easier (thats how i did mine), cause then its just simply a matter of uplugging the old loom and dropping the new one in place. Of all things, the hardest bit was taking the rivets out of the manual winder regs. They have a wierd rivet in them, which according to what i was told on here, is a monobolt that has hardened tool steel in the centre. A few broken drill bits later I went and bought a dremel and but the bastards out. The other option is to use a punch and knock the centre out then drill the rest. |
