hey guys, i have been looking at putting maybe a seat of LTD seats into my EL wagon, if not LTD, just something leather, (i love leather!)
but i was just thinknig, and it seems that ford never made an ef/el wagon with leather seats, and because the rear seat is different, i think i might be looking at a trimmer to make me one (eeeeep!)
$$
but i was just wondering, is it possibe that i could perhaps use the front 2, the rear bench, and possibly a back support part from another model that maybe did come out with leather?
if there is one?
thanks guys,
gumby

Mine's got leather rear seats (& front seats too), but it's really only a Fairmont from the factory, so they are out there if you keep looking long enough. FYI, Ford stopped making Ghia wagons after the ED.

Actually, AU1 got the last Ghia Wagon. There was on 5L Ghia EL Wagon too!

Are you sure?

EB was the last Ghia wagon, then AU1 was the last Fairmont wagon.

The best option is to simply change the covers.

Front Seats will fit, back seat base will fit.

the side seal bolsters from a SWB will 'fit' but arn't 100% correct.. if you wanted it 100% you'd need to change the material from onto the Wagon Bolsters.

Same with the Back seat backs, you can pull the covers and foams off the seat frame and swap them over.
they're a direct swap.

the only thing you may want to check is the location for the head rest mounts.

I installed DF LTD Seats in my wagon using the above method (i actually used the LWB bolsters aswell)
the head rest mounts on the wagon frames were closer to the centre of the car then that of the sedan seats.
had to cut them off and reweld them into the correct location.
I'll try get some photos of it all fitted.

When I went to insure the wagon the insurance company didn't recognise the Ghia spec and other webpages seem to back that up. And when I first went on fordmods I was questioned on the validity of the name I chose. This is my first Ford so I am still learning heaps about them. Since I bought the wagon a year ago I have never seen any Ghia wagon later than an ED, on the road or in car ads. When it comes time to upgrade, I have found out that Ford last put a V8 in the AU wagon.

my mother has a ghia wagon, AU series 1.
it does not have leather though.
ahhhh
so are they solid leather? (the back seat in the el ghia wagon)
or are they leather outsides with the cloth inserts, (yuck)

and EFFALCON
that would be excelent if you could put up some photo's.

The EF wagon seats are all leather, so I expect the EL wagon seats would be the same. There is the lower option of leather with velour inserts available as well. And it's only the front of the seats that are actually leather, the back bits are just vinyl.
Esteven8, it wasn't a silver wagon with a tyre in the back by any chance (LPG), there are two going around Adelaide that are almost identical, mine has a NF grille, the other a NL grille?

No, however I have seen a silver wagon with a Fairlane front on it on Main Nrth Rd a few times and another with IIRC a flip paint job. Both nearly gave me whiplash as I spun my head around to look. (Am a sucker for a nice wagon)

The one I saw was a Dark Blue one parked up in Tanunda a few months ago, stock as apart from really dark tint. Still looked awesome!!

The NF & NL grillles are from NF & NL Fairlanes. LOL
What's a flip paint job?
