Hey guys, can somebody tell me if i can get a rear centre seatbelt for my el xr6 that isnt a lap sash? im building a custom rear parcel tray and i want a smooth finish, without the rear centre seatbelt mount in the way.
also, is it neccessary for rego to have the rear mount point for the child seat? Thanksss

yeah all ef had lapsash center belt.
I'd say it could be a hairy legal ground A guy i was talking to once about a v8 conversion into a certain model he been told he had to have retracting POS in a 60s falcon, not just lap belt, maybe an upholester might have some contacts with regards to custom seat belts.

As has been said. EA and EB1 had the lap seat belt. EB2 onwards had the lap/sash belt.
I don't think that you can legally remove the lap/sash seatbelt - but I am not too sure. I do know that you cannot remove the child seat anchor points. They have to be available on all rear seat locations. I was looking (a while ago) at importing a 300zx. While looking at what had to be done to get the car registered, I found that I would have to fit the child seat anchor points to the car before it could be complied for rego, as the JDM model did not have them. If I had to do that to a car that did not have them when they were made, I highly doubt that you could not remove them.

I think the EBII was the first car in the World to get centre rear lap/sash, (or one of the first)
