Hey, how doyou remove a factory fitted sunroof? all four bolts are removed off the sunroof, but the front part of the sunroof stuck to the roof by some sort of glue. any ideas on how to remove the sunroof?

How would I remove the sunroof from an EL Fairmont Ghia?

Yea the whole thing; motor, glass, tracks, everything.

Best to have sunroof closed.

1) Remove hood lining.

2) Remove mounting brackets/supports.

3) Disconnect wiring.

This is where you will need help if you don't want to damage the roof of the car.

4) Get a long snapblade or flexable knife and start slicing between the casset and the roof. This will cut through the adhesive/silicon holding the casset to the roof. You need help to support it as you cut around and it starts to drop.
