Yeah G'day, look i was wondering if anyone knows how to actually remove the door handle from its surround. Im not talking about removing it from the door trim, just removing from the door handles surround so when its of all i have is the actual door handle. Its connected with a spring mech i know that but i dont know how to go about getting it off.

If its for an E series gently squeese the end of the white pin and push out of the hole. They are split at the end to stop them falling out. You may find that they go half way and stick, just push gently through until they stop and squeese the end and push out. Take note of where the spring goes and keep each door handle together in its own box/bag.
Hope this helps.

Yeah sorry bout not mentioning the car, haha, yeah its an EF Falcon GLi, the reason i want to remove the actual handle is because im doing interior mods on the car now, and its time to paint the door handles. Personally i reckon the chrome door handle look is far to unoriginal and considering my car and most peoples cars that have put them in dont have any other chrome finishes inside the car im steering clear of it. Instead im doing a high gloss black finish just too add a bit of class im hoping. Hooroo.
