how do you remove the lock knob thingo with out breaking it

and

how do you put it back on so that it sits flush with the door skin

any help is much appreciated

The door lock bit? Just pull it up until it comes out, it shouldn't break it will click out.

And to get it sitting flush you should get in and lock all the door, if it sits up a bit get some pliers and just make the plastic bits a bit wider again to fit over.

Lukey pretty much got it.

Pliers are good or a pair of multi grip pliers (prolly the bvest bet) and just pull up. It will unclip.

Try wind your windows down forst as well - stops them from getting hit with the tools.

To put back on push down until it clips back in properly. Don't be afraid to push it a bit otherwise it will still poke up a lil.

to remove put a thin rag over em and use vice grips.

to replace, wind down window, lock door, pull clip of lock out then sit in position and give it a good smash down. this will make it sit in perfect position
