Just wondering how i can take the factory cd player out and put in an aftermarket dvd player. I alredy have got the face off but i think i snapped some parts. Anyways if anyone can help. IM VERY STUCK. and driving in silence is seriously painfull.

you should have gotten some keys to get it out.

If you have pulled the face off... then all you need to do is look in the middle of both sides of the old deck... there is a lock tab in each side.. slide something long and thin into each side to push in the lock tab and the deck should slide out.

with the proper deck keys it takes seconds...

I would suggest it would be a double din unit. The tool required is a 'U" shape (can be made from coat hanger). These tools slide into BOTH holes on each side of the stereo, push towards the out side simultaniously-unlocking all 4 locking tabs at the same time. Often it is easier to unlock one side whilst pushing from behind the head unit, then do the other. These can come out real simple or can be a major pain in the a***. (mine was the later). Replace with suitable double din head unit, or if using single head- make sure to get the rounded pocket for underneath the unit. You can buy a square replacement pocket but they dont suit the curved fascia of the AU.

Not sure if you mean the shaped pocket or the pocket and the din surround that is all shaped.

They both work and look good, the din surround gives a cleaner look.

I used to work as an installer for years so I have every key ever used in nearly every car... be surprised how handy they are...

if you've ripped the face off the deck you are going to have to use four bits of wire to get the deck out as the holes in the face guide the keys in.

Thanks guys i managed to get the deck out with a coat hanger. and put in my new dvd deck.
