How do you remove the vynal handle / cover on the EF and EL style handbrakes?

The leather on mine is worn and i would like to get it re-trimmed

it just pulls off it has got velcow on the bottom holding in down .just free it up from carpet and slowly pull it up

Velcoed onto the carpet and pushed over the handle, you need to twist it a bit to get it to move.

LOL i am not talking about the boot, the part i am refering to is the bit you grab to leaver the handbrake up and down

yea u do as they said. it will all come out as one bit. just twist it and pull it. it WILL come off

right, pulling on it is not going to harm the button in any way is it?? the button is a chrome one and i don't wanna f**k it.

The button unscrews after you have the cover off.
