Hi guys, I want to remove the surround for the stereo in an EL Falcon. The manual says to remove the ashtray and unscrew the 2 screws! I can see the screw on the passenger side and remove it but cannot see any screw on the drivers side and cannot remove the panel for the life of me.

Must be easy and I must be blind, but can anyone help me out. I'm sure I am going to be embarrassed by how easy it is.
Thanks

There is only 1 screw. The other side push on pull out type of clip. Pull the lighter socket corner towards the rear of the car. The top just hooks in.
Hope this helps.

You will only find one screw in the EL model surround, the EF model surround (which your manual must be from) has 2 screws.

Thanks guys, I must have been too gentle. Once I stopped looking for that second screw and used a little muscle power it popped out no problems.
Thanks once again.

The EF 1 with the full width ashtray has 2 screws, the EF II and EL have one screw

No, you are right. I understand why you told me to do a search as not to clog things up. I just did not know where to find the search area. So no hard feelings from me and thanks to all who helped.
