Exactly. LED+RESISTOR+HOLDER=Blue Dash Mod (plug and play) so a resistor has to be added as shown in the doco section??

No all you need to do is simply remove the old by turning the holder a 1/4 of a turn and put the new in, a 1/4 of a turn. Plug and Play. No need to solder anything. Just like replacing any other globe. |

On the topic of these LED mods, does anyone know if 8mm leds will fit in the sockets ? I'm about to buy a large quantity for another project but if they won't fit the dash I'll have to go buy more 5mm ones.
Also what mcd rating are you guys using ? It seems you need a much higher rating on the white leds to get a light output comparable to a blue led. I remember ages back playing with 4000mcd blue leds and a 10,000 mcd white leds and the blue looked to give off more light - but it's a perception thing I guess with the way the human eye sees different wavelengths of light....

i believe in the end the narva method is way too expensive i paid $12 off e bay recieved everything i needed and soldered them on took approx 1 hour to complete everything. they are also bright as F@#k and look great. using this method you can also do other things like add more lights. (i added 8 instead of 6 to increase the even spread of light)

Do these globes for the AU falcon disperse the light? Or is it still very specific and noticable where the LED's are?

Test tehm out and see. On my EF Fairmont and Futura clusters it wasnt the best (still great but not fantastic) but on my mtes 95 EF GLi they are brilliant. Go figure.
If theya re too directional, just sand them down, helps disperse the light instead of direct it. |
