Yeah I know what you are thinking......another LED thread?????
WRONG......... I have just completed a blue LED conversion on my dash, using the Narva Blue LED's, part number 47902. As most readers will know these LED's draw 16mA at 13.8v, which produced a dull light, thus you would have to change the resistor so as it drew 30mA at 13.8v. Narva identified this problem and now supply them as standard drawing 30mA at 13.8v. This is now the most effective way to complete the dash mod. Pull the old ones out, put new one in. Below is a email I recieved directly from Narva: Hello Chris, Our current stock on part no. 47902 dash panel globes draws the following : # 30mA at 13.8 volts I did request a change recently to a higher operating voltage on the L.E.D globes, as most late model vehicles tend to operate in this band. I'm very much in the same boat.....'uneducated' but it means that the LED's are much brighter.
Before they were very dull and didn't light up much at all. To over come this you would have to change the resistor to increase the mA's and make them brighter. Very fiddly job and time consuming. Now they come with a resistor to run them at 30mA which is plenty bright enough. Once you have the cluster out it's a matter of pulling the old out, and putting new one in, as the come fitted in a holder. Hope all this make sense? |

so all of their led thingos come in 30mA now... for example white (think datamine custom dials)
hrmm... excellent, i am running out of escuses not to do s**t now!! |

also all their leds are basically IDENTICAL to the ones your making just with their own holders. you dont need to solder the diy ones to the bulb holders either incase u didnt know.
the narva ones are very well known to stop working quite often or short out. change the resistor on your normal leds and shave the heads a bit and ull get a better result |

I have these in my fairlane cluster and yeah i agree these are real easy to fix etc.. only prob i have with them is my speedo needle only half lights up blue untill ya go over 60.. Im thinking of getting some light sand paper and roughing the bulb a little so the light spreads more. Has this happened to anyone else before?

So am i correct in assuming these units are an LED with a resistor, fitted to an OEM bulb holder?? i.e. plug and play??

Im assuming they fit straight into an au cluster with no bending the pins?
Im wondering are they are good spread of light or is it noticable where the led is sitting. |

If the AU's use those next sized up globes Nava do blue wedge type ones that ya just slip in the bulb holder.. P/no 47864 - for blue
