Today I bought a set of 2 aluminium scuff plates with the XR logo engraved into them that apprently suit an FG XR8 ute. I rang the local dealer up while I was at work and they said yes they have ones to suit FG's. So I went in after work and spoke to a different person and he confirmed that yes they do have them and proceeded to go grab me a pair (of plates not balls).

I said 'do they just stick to the painted surface in the doorway next to my seat?', and he said no they fit in the plastic part, and there should be a hollow section they locate into. Well there ain't no freaking hollowed out section to stick them too, the only place they fit onto is the painted part.

Anyone here have scuff plates fitted? Do they really actually go onto the painted surface?

hi mate, just looked on my car. they stick to the paint by the looks of it, theres no surround around it. the au and ba have a plastic cover that clips and screws in, and the scuff plates goes into a channel made into it. the fg doesnt have those plastic pieces. if you want me to send you a pic pm me your email and ill shoot one off to you.

I'm curious to know this too. Not really keen on wrecking my paintwork with a bit of double sided tape.
