Anyone notice the chrome handles more easily crack the plastic housing on them? I had to go to the wrecker and stockpile a few.
(ive got EL Ghia trims and handles in my ED)

What I was gonna do before was just take out the shifter surround, tape off the gear selection section, and spray it with VHT chrome paint (made for plastic). Give it a try I rekon it'd look awesome. i want the chrome just around the prndl selecter bit. its tempting to buy a woodgrain one, mask of he chrome bit and spray the woodgrain grey. be a shame to wreck a perfectly good woodgrain one tho

(ive got EL Ghia trims and handles in my ED) I've got an EL with the chrome handles, and both my Front Door handles cracked in this way. The rear ones almost never get used, so they're still allright... I think the extra weight of the handle, and that they are metal on plastic being pulled all the time makes them more suceptible to damage. |

All I did was, push it out with small screwdriver until I could grab the other end with a pair of pliers. They are tight, but then you wouldn't want them loose.

same here. I had cracking on my original housings, so I transferred my Chrome handles from the old to the new cappa housings, and this was all I had to do.
Just be careful getting back in on the new ones. they need a bit of force, but not too much!! |

Once you get one rollpin out you can use that one to push the others out.
