this may be a silly Q, but what size LED's do we use? 10mm, 5mm? ? or is the size just the length of the wire.. so it doesnt really matter?
thanks, Rod.

for you guys who used the globes? what did u use for the sections that dont have bulb holders? and for the guys who used covers for those setions.. did it create a diff colour to the LED's so it looked funny ?

the 5000mcd ones? or the 1500? we were going to use the 10mm 4500 ones.. would they still fit/work ?

they may just fit
but the 5mm ones arent as tall so you wont have a prob and yes i did use the 5000mcd ones they work a treat!

Hey nick what did you use for the filter?

Also what kind of resistor do you use on the end of the LED?

Sounds like the 560 Ohm ones are the go, as they don't put the LEDs under too much stress going by the calculations (hooray for physics ). And yeah I am also waiting on an answer for some filter ideas.. I might give a few of those a bash tonight if people get posting..
Cheers guys

Where can you buy the globe holders from and what kind do you need?

Well according to the doco there are already globe holders in the dash and a couple of other places that you can just insert the wedge LEDs into without much effort. However in places where you can't use a globe holder you need to create the circuit yourself so that the LEDs light up.. I think the pic of the climate control with the bunch of LEDs in it shows that the best.. I hope that helps hehe
If not I'm sure someone who has actually done the mod can help..

well how do you connect the two legs of the LED to the circuit? Or do you use the existing bulb holder and just sit the LED inside it??

My guess would be that you trim the wire attached to the LED so that it fits nicely inside the bulb holder, and then solder it in place once the circuit works.. But what would I know
I guess it may become clearer once I actually get around to having a proper look and see what it involves which I haven't done obviously..

Well I did the clock this arvo.. here's a pic:
It actually looks pretty much the same as the orange except red so quite happy with that one. But with that comes.. you guessed it, another question I also took out the climate control to clean up the buttons like Laximah did (and yeah that works sweet) but now I have begun to wonder how the f**k do you change the filter inside the climate control LCD ?? From the looks of things you can either a) destroy the original filter and bend it out from the rear or b) dismantle the solders on the front of the module and hack it out from the front.. So there's my question.. so to anyone who has managed to change the LCD colour on your climate controls.. please enlighten me ! Cheers !
