Hi guys, thinking about changing my dash around.. and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to show me their mods? Im mainly interested in EF/EL models but all pics will be appreciated! So im pretty much just after a big collection of piccies so that me and other potential dash modders can have a gander! Thanks!

what model mate? and what do you mean by 'changing it around' - i.e changing clusters/colours/adding components (eg trip comuters) and that? the more specific you can be, the more help you'll get! :P

well, mine has the surround on the cluster painted silver, with blue LED's to backlight the instrument cluster.

azza has painted his dash surround black - looks pretty good - there are a few other members on here with some pretty radical dash conversion - wchunke (spelling?) has lime green, another bright red - depends on what you're looking for! :P

there is a doco on how to do the mods to change to LED's for the dash - its pretty easy - if you need a hand, i'm sure a few of us perth members could give ya one on the weekend

Yeah me and Laximah will probably be giving it a shot over a weekend.. without much experience in doing dash mods it looks a tad confusing ! Changing the globes to LEDs doesn't look too hard but the whole LCD colour changing looks to be more of a delicate process so I am really just wondering what results people have got from using different types of filter/paper or whatever. 8-)

Just the "modding newbie" inside me is a little scared lol  :P

Cheers :D

MY dash got all sorts of s**t hanging off it.. gauges, screen, miscellaneous switches... looks god awful but all very functional. Some pics in my gallery but gauges have been moved to a pillar/dash corner since they were taken.

BTW LCD mod VERY easy... follow the instructions and experiment with the filters you use. If you have a clock, very easy to remove/dismantle to play around with. Once you get that right, do the odometer/cc.

For filter I used dark blue paper and soaked it in WD40 to increase the transparency... obviously letting dry before installing but looked much better than plain paper.

Oh okay, thanks for that tip. :)

I am also assuming here that the trip computer LCD would have a similar layout to the clock ?? So just as easy to fiddle with ? :D

More pics thx ! hehe.

Cheers 8-)
