ok i won a remote door and boot operner for ford EB/ED on Ebay, i had a look at the info givin on how to re program a remote to my car, i did what the doc said and nothing happen,

So does the 3/92 model EB mont have smartlock, my key is round not flat thats for the ignision and doors and boot, were is the smart lock computer found.

i have used the doc word for word on how to add a remote with no luck.

im not 100% certian but i was told its located above handbreak lever and that why when car not start u hit the dash there

did you use the demistor switch?
if so.. try the Boot button instead.

yep tried both ways no luck, could it be the new alarm i had installed to the car thats stopping this, as i have remote fobs to open and arm the alarm could this in some way have disabled that part ?.

mines a EB no smartlock it was an option untill late in 92 i think

EB didn't become series II until the 9/92 and smartlock doesn't start 10/92. found out the hard way that mine is a series II with no SLM. sorry to be the bearer of bad news

yes, tibbe door locks was introduced on EAII

how is it good news?

the only way to get your remote working is to add the smartlock module and BEM, from a post oct92 EB which is all stuffed deep within the dash.

ok now thats a little confuzzling.

it would say on the plate under the bonnet if its an EBII right?
cos mine just says EB.. but....

April '92 "series II" update mines aug '92

4.0 MPFI introduced in series II thats the engine i have

also no smartlock, but Ford Til I Die said it didnt come out till oct '92

so is mine actually series II without smartlock, or maybe a previous owner has changed a few things...

you might actually have smartlock without knowing it. When i got my NC it didn't come with a remote. But still had smartlock.

When you totally remove your key from the ignition do you get a flashing LED after about 15 seconds??

beats me, 15 seconds im usually out of the car haha. where would the LED be?
plus with smartlock, isnt it supposed to have a little thingy on the left side of the steering wheel? just above the handbreak?. this is a pic of whats in mine, looks like something should be there.
