would just standard 4 inch speakers fit in the door of my el ghia without hitting anything??

You'd still have to put the tweeter somewhere but the six would be no problem, either locate the tweeter behind your vents or thrown em in behind the mirror.

yeh easiest spot for the tweets is up on top of the dash, theres 2 screws and a few clips holding the panel on. its not the best spot, but unless you want to fibreglass the pilar......
what brand splits you lookin at?
hertz would probably be the best at about 350
