hey, i was wondering what do most of you guys use to spray your dashes and stuff like that in your cars?

ive sprayed up some plastic with some VHT paint. looks great and hasn't come off yet. its all about the prep time really.

if you wanted to do the plastic the same as the exterior colour, i'd put down a base of VHT (a similar colour to it) after giving it a good clean and scrub. then apply your coats of ext. paint and clear. buff.

have a look at hyena's engine job. looks great, his even done the reserve the same.

i did alot on my interior, but paint wise, i did the door handles and the little pockets u stick ur hand in to pull the door shut, the headlights panel, the boot and fuel door release panel, ashtray, transmission base, all air vents, control knobs, falcon logo, demister panel, and passenger airbag surrounding, it came out really well, i had to take ALL parts out of the car before spraying except for the airbag surround, that required me to take out basically the whole dash to do, so i sprayed that IN the car, put up a LOT of BIG sheets and rags to cover ur interior from floating spray, i just used chrome paint in a spray can, applied 2 coats of WHITE primer to bring out a nice shine, 3 coats of chrome, and a single coat of gloss... came out really well..

but then again, ive had the day off tafe today, so i had a few borbons, so dont listen to me

VHT paints are wicked. I've used the Vyynal and Carpet dye on heaps of carpet no worries yyet!

ok, because im loooking at spraying some of the interior in the not to distant future. Where would i be able to obtain some VHT paint?

The Septone brand is very good used it lots of times from Super Cheap Auto.,....

its been covered oh so much

3 Steps to make it look perfect

1) use a good plastic primer to start off with... rough it up like it says on back of bottle... spray a few coats with that then wait for it to dry
2) use any plastic spray u want and the colour u want, be patient.. give it a coat, wait for it to try, another, wait then another.. 3 should do..
3) once dry give it about 3 coats with a clear plastic spray, that will give it a nice shiny look when its finished

the stuff i got had VHT in big letters on the can. got it from an auto paint joint in town
