hi guys, i've just bought a second hand elgt steering wheel and it has some chips in the wood.
question is, is it actually real wood or plastic with a woodgrain over it?
just trying to find out who i can take it to for repairs.

Don't blame you! Where the chips are, can you tell at all from those chips if its genuine? I've got chipped woodgrain in my car, and you can tell straight up that it's fake thanks to the little chip.

It looks like the laquer is broken away from the inside which has pretty much the same look so it must be wood? Knocking on it also says so, i'll sleep on it and get the palm sander out, get the laquer off, feather out the chips and recoat it?
I can't see any other way of finding out?
$320!
