Just wondering, as i have an ED and somehow when i replaced the little odometer gear the speedo has not worked since.
Since there is heaps of EA "s" pac clusters around lots cheaper than EB2-ED ones with smartlock if i was to just get a non smartlock one and just change the speedo/odo head part over would it still work. Hope this makes sense and doesn't just sound like alot of rambling. Any help and comments muchly appreciated

is this in the dash? or in by the gear box?

you think it may be calibrated different? so i would just have to change the gear over if there was a problem. that seems easy enough

i looked at that but there is nothing wrong with my odometer though. thats how the problem started in the first place.

my odometer works fine at the moment.
just my speedo needle doesnt move everything else in the dash works great. temp, oil pres, fuel, volt and tacho all fine

Well as you know obviously there's something amiss in the speedo indicator itself - you've obviously done something when you put it together. Odometer works so it's getting a signal from the G/box speed sensor. Perhaps the pointer is binding - can you physically rotate the pointer to full scale, and will it rotate smoothly back to zero ?? If you go the path of swapping the indicator, perhaps a std EA - ED cluster speedo may be a direct fit as well ??

yeah it moves freely by hand. and springs back to zero by itself.
there is a few cheap ones around so i guess it could be a good experiment. the missus is getting the s**t driving round not knowing how fast she is going

poverty pack speedo is different, but u can swap one out of an EA cluster no worries at all

did you plug the wiring for the speedo back in?

yeah mate everything has been plugged in. checked and rechecked. have had it out a couple of times to look for something that looks wrong and couldnt see anything. must of just f**k it when i pulled it apart in the first place
