hey guys can anyone help???
I want to replace my electric window switches with a much smaller switch along with my mirror switch and the door "lock" button... Basically I'm moving the switches to the door but using a much smaller set of switches... is there going to be any problem with doing this? maybe melting switches or something? I haven't played much with switches so I figure its best to ask

Door locks won't be a problem but you will need to know how many amps the power window is going to draw and buy switches that are rated higher.going smaller in size may mean smaller amperage or you can fit relays to handle the load but one thing to keep in mind is that if you operate a window in an up way and someone else operates it in a down way at the same time you will have a problem unless you are only using one switch for each window and have sole control over them.Follow that? It is a big job and seriously you do need to know what you are doing.Cheers Kevman.

I've done this before in a very old Celica. You shouldn't have any problems as long as it's all done properly. You will need DPDT switches, they should have six pins. The wiring is simple, but expect to do a fair amount.
I have to ask though, why? Its going to look like s**t without a huge amount of work, and the switches are very ugly unless you use some other factory ones. |

I am rebuilding the whole car bit by bit... I'm still not sure about the windows... If I will change the switches or not. I'll prob start with the door locks and go from there... there is enough work to get me started...
Thanks for the info though been a big help guys
