I'm thinking about removing my Futura front and back seats and replacing them with the XR sports seats. How much would i be looking at buying the seats from the wreckers, the avaliability of such seats and the time and labour involved?

Oh yeah and do the XR seats come in different colours and does anyone have a pic of the rear and front seats or are the rear seats just the same but with a different upholstery?

I suppose i'd have to change the door trim as well?

EF XR & EL XR seats are different trims. EL has a black thread, EF has a purple one. both XR & futura have electric front winders, and manual backs, so door trims are a straight swap. best to get the door trims as well, or at least the fabric off them, as otherwise it won't all match!

I suggest you go for a drive to a few dealers and at least sit in if not drive a few XR's to feel the difference, so you can make an informed decision.

How about the NF fairlane interior seats? They'd fit the same wouldnt they?

Fronts bolt straight in (NF --> EF)

Rears you need to swap the brackets over so it is NF covers on EF bracketrs then it bolts straight in.

XR seats will bolt straight in fronts and rears.

yes it is. when we did the power window conversion on my gli we got an xr interior. awesome seats. missing them in the ghia now, looking at buying some xr fronts and having them re-uphostered in leather to match the rest of the interior.

there is a wrecker here in adelaide that has 2 full el xr interior's for $500 each both in perfect condition. also have leather el ghia interior for $500 but rear trims have button not winder for window. i'm sure there would be wreckers where you are that have the same and i'd say thats about the money you'll be looking at
