 Post subject: temp gauge problem

i was wondering if anyone could help me as the temp erature gauge is always showing 3/4 or over even when it is disconected from the sender unit we have replaced the actual gauge the problem still exists any help would be great.
only thing i can think of could be the wiring

might be u need a coolant change!!!! LOL
im not entirely clear on what u mean but have u checked all mechanical parts to the cooling system first

have you tried changing the sender unit that screws into the engine?

doubtful if it still shows 3/4 even after he disconnects the sender, might be some faulty wiring someone which is partly earthing out?

Is the guage showing 3/4 with the engine switched off too?

no just when power goes to it
yes we have changed the sender and the actual gauge it self
i think it has to be the wiring
