Hi all,

Unable to get hold of the plug that goes into the back of the trip computer, so i dont know what color wires are meant to come off what pin.

This makes the doco on how to install this iseless for me. Can anybody tell me which pins are what color wire.

Eg. Looking at the computer from the back, there a 12 pins, in 2 rows of 6.
If the pins are numbered 1 to 6 across the top row, and 7 to 12 across the bottom, can anybody tell me which pin has what color wire connecting to it? Thanks :)

Mate, I have a workshop manual at home. I will copy the page and send to you. PM me with your email address. It would be much simpler to go to a wreackers and get a plug from a EA-ED Fairmont or NA-NC Fairlane. They dont charge much . Cut as much of the loom as you can. Let me know if you want the pin outs.

After a few hours of soldering etc, and hoping for the best, the trip computer was installed last night !

Was unable to find a plug that fits into the back of the unit, so a trip to jaycar and i had the right size connections to fit over the pins for the wires, and some shrink wrap...

Special thanks to BDennis for scanning the wiring diagrams of the ECU, Trip Computer etc...

just a quick question on Trip Computer Wire 1 connecting it to Pin 14 from the instrument panel.

looking at the troubleshooting thing on the tech document, the trip computer only illuminates when i press a button, so there must be a lose connection here.
whats the best way of inserting the wire into the plug.. i have just stuffed it in there but obviously theres no contact, i can see on the other wires theres some metal thing around the end of the wire that then goes into the plug.

And also how did you put wires from pin 6 and 7 from the trip computer to a Instrument Illumination Bulb. i just shoved it in the plug but not sure if proper, maybe tap into the wire instead?

i hope you can understand what im saying without pictures.. ill be taking some in an hour when the camera gets here.

cheers

Any chance of getting a copy of the wiring page for the EB/ED Trip Computer. I've got the doco from the Tech Doco section but not sure about pin 1 my plug has a black/green wire and the doco has both 1 and 6 going to ground???
