when you sell the car and the roadworthy gets done if the car has less K's on it than when the last roadworth got done you are in deeeeeeep s**t. If you bought the car new then i say go for it |

I would be asking this question because of the fact that my odo is reading 250thou over what the engine has done but i would just get people telling me to get a different dash <_< Im still tossing up whether i want to ditch the digi-dash of the EA Fairy and go a sports dash out of an s-pak or something or keep it for the full "fairmont" effect

I wonder what's going to happen when i rock up for rego with my Hz panel van. I've had a set of 2nd hand gauges rebuilt, and the speed now reads 000,000.0 since i've not yet driven the car at all. When i bought it, it was a rolling shell. Been doing a full ground up rebuild. I have no way of knowing what milage was on it when i bought it, there was no speedo in the car!
Sounds like i'm going to have fun @ vic roads! Oh yeah, i've seen my Torana click over from 99,999.9 twice since owing it. Was on 96,xxx.x when i first bought it. Real world milage is about 350k acc to service records on the old girl. Cheers ToranaGuy

yes it can be done. This information is not openly shared as it is a serious offence to do such a thing. An instrument maker is capable of doing so and charges approx $80 to wind back to whatever K's you wish .
