Hey Guys, just purchased EFXR8 cluster for my EFGLI and was reading in the technical docs about the "eeprom". Have any of you swapped these over yourselves, if so is there anything I will need to watch out for or am i better to pay someone to do it? Have done other basic electronic work but don't wanna stuff this up.
Thanks |

like the doco says - it is small and affected by too much heat. Got to a tv repair place or something similar and get them to do it. I went to Hills Telefix and cost me $10

Pay someone as its surface mount and if you sit the soldering iron there to long you will burn the board and other tracks.
Take it to some tv/vcr repair place and tell him what to do, about 15-50 to get swapped over.. cheaper/safer |

I did mine myself (but then again I'm a skilled artisan with a soldering iron).
It's tiny. (little 8 legged freak centred in the pic) More: http://fordmods.datamine.tk/gallery.asp?gallery=Dials
