it it has climate control the compressor will kick in after the car starts so it should not make a difference, dunno about non climate control.

id say it would be the bulb behind the odometer. mine went dull the other day, as if it was blown, but a little tap fixed it. but it worries me because the one in my clock did the same a few months before it blew, and the odo one would be harder to get at then the clock

Starting your car with the Ac on is going to put more load on your battery, other than that I have never had any other problems.

time consuming more so than anything. just takes a bit of time & thought (first off) to get the dash surround, buttons undone, and to pull the cluster out - its not a big deal really, especially once you know what you're doing

Having your AC on when starting won't do any harm. The same as full throttle(WOT)AC is disabled until "start up"has completed.Engine and accesories are "disabled"until RPM is above 750(from memory). At WOT,AC is disabled to provide max power.Go for drive up big hill with AC on,using WOT and see what i mean.Air from vent will not be cooled as compressor is disabled, will take a decent hill to see results.

In the old magnetic switch air cons, it was bad to start with them on, but newer rotary compressors, no probs, thats my understanding of it.
You have got your dimmer turned all the way up havent you?
