I am after a small supply of 'Loom Diodes' to be used in a BA Falcon.
Scattered around the BA Loom are a number of Diodes. I've seen these used in: (a) Early BA Alarm installs up in the Boot Light (b) There's one in the Dash Loom up behind the Instrument Cluster (c) There are at least 2 that I can see in the Power Distribution Box (PDB) There are also at least 4 used in the Loom for the Cornering Lamps. I've looked around a little bit including the local Ford Spare Parts (since they are in the PDB with Relays and Fuses it made sense they'd be a replaceable part) with no luck and thought I'd just post the question here: Does anyone know where I can get these from? I'd be after the Diodes and their sockets with wires. Hopefully there's someone that supplies them somewhere. If I have no luck I'll just use some 1N4004 rectifier diodes that I bought from tricky d**k (100 for about $3) but was looking for a more elegant solution. Image of a Diode has been attached:

i would get one of them inline fuse holders, the smaller type, and put an n4004 in there, with heatshrink on the wires. that would be elegant enough for me, and you could connect a plug to it as well

As long as you don't need to push too much current though it, a 1n4004 should be fine. Looking at that diode, it's not designed for much current.

Hmm, as Bridge Rectifier Diodes I thought I'd be OK.
But now I look at them, they are 400V units and can only handle about 1A. So you're wise to raise my attention. In my application I was looking at driving the 25W Fog Lamps, but at 12V that's going to be closer to 2A. And being a DC application, it's got to sustain that current. Maybe my selection has been poor....and a 6A10 is what I'd be better off getting. There are some characters on the Ford unit in the image - I can read 5F0 30 - but searches don't turn up anything.
