Okay. I left the car parked in the driveway last night, all the windows up etc. As most of SE QLD'ers on this forum would know, we've been having a little bit of rain the last few days.
Anyway, I go to get in the car this afternoon to go and stock up on my wonder juice from BWS... and I find about 8 litres of water, just pooled up in the footwells. I was shocked, as this has only ever happened once before, but it was in the rear drivers side, but this time was in the rear and a lot worse in the front. Seems to only occur when the car is parked on an angle, which my driveway just so happens to be. Could this be faulty seals, or am I going to have to find a leak somewhere. BTW, only happens on the driver side. Passenger side is 100% dry. Will upload photo's in a sec.

Had the same problem with mine, the welds at the top of the A pillar didn't seal properly. Pull the weather seal off and check the welds for gaps, put a little silicon on any holes or gaps should fix it, then just put the weather seal back on as normal. Have seen 2 other cars with the same problem, both with the drivers side, one with the passengers as well and usually when the car is on an angle.

Ford is good for this. Alot of Ef el boots leak when parked facing down hill, this issue it quite common aswell. Also the older model transits often are missing a weld between the fire wall and a pillar and leak like a sivv. my ebs rear windows work them selves down and leak.

this has nothing to do with the 6 cyl engine....
please think about your topic before puting it in the 6 cyl forum, just because your car is a 6 doesnt mean you post your topics in that forum,,, thread moved... |

Yes Troy, because it is an Interior MODIFICATION. I totally wanted water in my car. Cheers for the help Pakrat, will check for leaks in the boot.

Meh. It smells quite charming now, brings all the b**ch... Waiting for the rain to ease up so I can leave the windows open for a day or 2 so it can air out. But this rain is making is f**k difficult

Were there any weld gaps in the A pillars?

Try using some Bicarb of Soda in some jars on th floor overnight. It will help soak up the moisture in the air and remove any odours.

When my cars are full of water I put a closet camel in them.
Available at the supermarket for about $10 and work a treat.

A pillar is the first bit o metal upright that runs along side the windscreen to hold the roof up.
B pillar is the vertical one nexto your head holding the roof up. C pillar is the back one.

And I thought it was just me.
Was about to complain about water filling up the front passenger footwells, and did anyone else have this problerm... I thought it might have been from pressure washing the car, but it seems the A pillar, and when the car is on an angle, is the problem. The angle...by that, you mean a sideways angle, or front-top-rear? I'm presuming here it's side to side. Mine was every-so-slightly tipped to the right last night (and, I do mean slightly). Is that the same with everyone here? Not so sure about that...it's only happened twice in four months, and the car has been on all angles, in the rain, without an issue. The rain has finally gone today, so will try and dry everything out. Oh, I quicklk checked the firewall padding, and it is also soaked. Whether that is from sucking up the water underneath the carpet, or is leaking down though it, I do not know until I rip if off and have a decent look. Once again, thanks for the tips everyone - I'll check the seal at the top of the a pillar, and.will add some bi-carb today, as the sun has finally appeared.

Nah, mines only when it's parked straight in the driveway. Either boot facing down or the bonnet, water gets in... Still haven't had time to check the A Pillar. But at least the car has been aired out for the last 5 days haha
