no they check the spare in a RW test

also my mate recently got rejected on his RW because the globe in the centre console wasnt lighting up - what total s**t

The last time I got a RW the guy told me the spare tyre is only checked if it is actually in there, if you take it out it will still pass a RW, if it's in there it needs to be in RW condition. There's a few cars I know of, the Chrysler crossfire for one, that don't come with a spare and there's plenty of them getting around.

I take it your mates car is an auto so you have to be able to easily see what gear you are in at night hence the light needs to work.

NSW is the same with spare, if it has one it has to be legal tread etc if it doesn't have one it doesn't matter.

couldn't have said it better.

but for ultimate jap weight reduction styles, rip eveything out, rear seats, sound deadening, head lining, carpet, interior plastics, passengers seat if you want, rear speakers, everything from the boot. basically go nucking futs on the interior but keep it it safe and sound so if you get pulled by the fuzz you can put it all back in to clear defects and RWC...

ending up like the boot in the photo..

That is funny as, almost as good as the episope of the saterday car show when they find the worlds fastest toyota corona, the dud ends up chopping off the roof and its slower!

I drive a ute so its a lil difficult to shed weight, but one thing i will add is be sure to watch the balance of weight once you take it out, this can really affect handeling of the car.

haha toyota corona, we had one of those for a thrash car about a month back those things take a beating! i could drop the clutch all day long from redline doin standys off the limiter.

thing finally died after we rammed it into some exposed train tracks repeatedly until the sump was all f**k, we drove it till she seized haha

next thrash car im gonna try some of the weight reduction like in that article
