The other thing to be aware of is, Ive heard that you have to grind your studs to shorten them so they dont protrude past the hub adapter, not sure if this has to be done in all cases.

since when?

fairmont studs are longer than gli studs, by alot.

Not sure on that one. I could be wrong but i think its only the farimont alloys that need the longer ones.

Someone can confirm?

Actually, I think you will find it may only be EL cars that have the extra stud length, and tickfor enhanced EFs.

My series one EF donor car had them, which all parts of have been transfered to the EB.

You can if you grind off the end of the stud. Been done plenty of times.

ef/el in general, had long a** studs, not sure about the early e series, but our ef1 gli, pure povpack, short of being white, has the same length studs as my mont.

I'd be checking the legalities of modifying the studs unless you dont care - im sure there is multi-fit adaptors out there that would accommodate the longer stud pattern and off set the new studs to accommodate so offsets arent effected and keeps things from looking stupid...

Id be talking to the wheel shop if your getting the hub adaptors from there and yes come in a range of sizes - id hit up a wheel/tyre shop anyway just incase...

With the scrubbing it will just be a case of getting the guards rolled and seeing how the 19"s go - definently get them rolled a little bit.... can cost from free to around $50 a side or $50 a guard just shop around... you can get them rolled again and again afterwards if they do scrub....just remeber they can only go so far pumping/rolling/flaring etc guards until the paint cracks and you'll have to re-spray the panel.

DO NOT BUY THOSE SPACERS!!!!!!

Theyre 12mm studs (commodore) NOT 1/2 inch (falcon)!!

Theres other ones on there which use the CORRECT studs, so you wont have to use Commodore nuts. This is the reason wheels fall off spacers - falcon nuts on commodore studs in spacers.

And yeh, you'll need 30mm. I've got a set of BA XR6T 17s on my EF with 235s, and I'll have to roll the lip on the guards all round - if you ran 35mm your wheels would too far out, and you'd be scrubbing everywhere.

35mm hub adaptors , 18x8s never scrub at all
you will def have to shave or cut your studs on all e series all 20 of them.
takes hours of f u cking around .
even took the tyres place like 2 hrs took me about 4hrs without a hoist.
i ended up running out of cutting gear and using a hacksaw on the last 4.
get a wheel alignment.
i had castor and camber kit on my gli and the tyres lasted ages.
i had none on my fairmont and wore out the front tyres in weeks

if you have 2g buy proper fitment rims
this will also save you on tows if you get a flat or get nrma like me lol
will save $ in the event of breaking aircraft grade billet aluminium or multiple studs,as previously mentioned on f/m

haha, the legalities are already out the window if he's gonna use spacers in the first place, modified studs would just be icing.
