My carpets and seats are absolutely filthy. Dirt and oil mostly making them look like s**t.
I tried a while back using degreaser and that carpet cleaner in a can, but it was f**k useless, and the degreaser took AGES to dissappear. I was pondering using mums wet/dry vax with the vax carpet cleaner put was pondering if anyone had anything better in mind. Thanks.

Well what someone else did was take the seat trims off the actual seat hung it off the line while hosing it down and some scrubbing...if not you could chuck it in the washing machine one at a time.
What I did was, pulled the seats out and then used a steam cleaner and got most of it off...now its ugly again LOL good luck phong =P~

Exactly what I have done twice. I've got three kids and a dog and they make a hell of a mess. Cost me 70 bucks both times and all come up schmick. Well worth the dough rather than the hassle of doing it yaself.

In my old car the carpet got so dirty fron not using floormats i used to vacuum what i could and then spray it with carpet dye of the same colour.
Dont do it on a car worth keeping.

Take the seats out of the car, put detergent on them and gernie them with a pressure cleaner. They come up quite good. Do the same with the carpet.

Mate if you can source it out, then get yourself a can of brake clean from WURTH - its the white and red can with the red lid, NOT the blue and black can with black lid. Its a dry clean - I used to work for WURTH so know it quite well - and it works a treat, on brakes, cleaning oil off sheetmetal and on fabrics!! Tried it myself, grease on white shirt, sprayed it on, then stuck it through the wash - grease gone. Also did it on the seats, sprayed it on, then normal "seat and fabric cleaner" from supercheap and brought em up well!! Just another option...

i took the covers off my xf and put them in warm water with detergent, then hung them up, they looked brand new after i put them in, not fun getting those metal clips on again though. another easier option which works for me is nappy san in hot water and a scrubbing brush, always works for me.

I was looking in street machine and theres a company who does moulded carpets to suit cars, for i thinjk $110 you could get whole new carpet.
but then you gotta take all the seats n s**t out. I might try citro clean or any of the other self cleans, f**k paying someone to do it, im laying out enough to get the car fixed as it is. thanks everyone.

My father in law is a carpet cleaner. The franchise is chem dry. He has this spray bottle the is now sold in some supermarkets, it is a water based product that is carbonated, it sprays on then massage it in a fair bit and then rub it back and forth with a white towel. You'd be amased at what it brings out. and because it is carbonated it brings the dirt to the surface unlike steam cleaning. It got blue crayone out the the Fairmont door trim nicely.

If you have tar spots use metho and water. Carpet cleaner in a can and warm water is good too.
Vacuum loose dirt with a vacuum. I removed my front and rear seats, console and park brake boot to get all the coke stains, tar spots and dirt off - it was a country car to begin with. I forgot to mention tea stains - my father loved his cups of tea LOL
