Yey, quite a job. Needs EF/EL computer and a lot of wiring if you use the EA loom or change to EF/EL looms and rewire connectors 50/50 as far as I am concerned. Some changes to mountings for dash nothing to bad. All top winscerrn bolts the same, outer bolts near fusebox and on oassenger side have to be modded no probs, and tunnel mounting point is a little bit harder. You need to have a reasonable understanding of what needs to be changed. I am in electronics , so I was half way there. With a lot of help from guys on this forum it was easy. Biggest problem was the hand brake, as u cannot use the original under dash unit. But thats another story.
Thanks for the reply. Cheers

The dash and door trims bolt in easily enough.
How did you go about the centre console, handbrake and seats? I'm interested because I'm doing the conversion soon enough too. |

Seats were reasonable I used the existing frames and modded them to suit, not too much involved if u can weld ok.
Center console fist ok but u need a new carpet from EF/EL. U can getone made to fitt exactly or with a bit of cunning anEF/EL std will fit. Hand brake is a BI-CH. To use the center h/b u need to fit an EF/EL rear axle. Take it from me I have tried lots of mods and they dont work. So its a new rear axel. But if u can get a foot operated handbrake from a column shift/bench seat EF/EL u can fit that and it does work. U must use the pedal box from the column shift car to get the mounting points also u have to weld a plate across where the steering column mounts as the bolt positions are different. All good fun, not that I thought it at the time.

I have a foot operated handbrake to use, but I have a 5-speed manual... so I don't think it's a good idea lol!

very blue. nice that youve modernised the interior, but wouldn't of been my colour scheme choice. but good work there.

You must change the pedal box otherwise u cannot fit the footbrake.
I did mine after changing the dash. I just took out all the bolts holding the dash and gently pulled it away at the top, I had previously completly unbolted the pedal box below the dash and disconnected the brake. Then u can undo the top bolts, pull out the old and in with the new, replace bolts and put dash back. One thing before pulling dash out release the heater cable behind the glove box.

Hrmmm I would have to put a clutch pin onto the auto pedal box somehow...

Should not be a problem just transfer the parts from one to the other.

Hey copy cat!!!!
{DESCRIPTION} (NL interior in EA) Great job, good to see more and more people attempting this huge task, it's not as easy as some people make it out to be. It's unbelievable just how much need to be changed to get it all to work!!! Especially as you said if you want the centre handbrake and also the steering wheel... |

Sounds like an easy way to do handbrake turns...
