I got a set of 6x9 Pioneers with the big spacers from supercheap off a mate for $20.

They sound sooo much better then the stockies.

They sound better then my BA speakers and I have alpines in the back, but that's because they are 6x9's and not 5x7's. 6x9's play lower naturally.

Anyway, Photo.

Basically the magnet sits down that hole a bit, and they sit in there nicely, look okay as well.

Why not get some quality 6" speakers (that fit without modification) and a decent sub? Spacers don't look good, imo.

I put kenwood 100 watt speakers in the rear same size as the stock ones and used the stock covers so it looks STOCK lol, and did the same to the front doors then added 2x 10 inch subs in box in the boot sounds bloody nice.

i spent a few hours laying in my boot with the jigsaw, put them on spacers horizontally, as opposed to darkr's orientation. looks good imo.
