hey guys

i just bought the faces of ebay, and b4 it arivies i just wanna know how do i take the gauge cluter off and replace the face..

i got a au fairlane ghia..

1. is it hard?

2. should i get a auto sparky to do it?

is there anyway i can change the odo to blue as well? i dont like the oranage at all, looks homo

Ok this is absed on EF/EL. I am assuming AU isnt much differnet.

Unclip the plastic faces.
Take out any loose items; in the EF/EL case the black bit surrounding the dials.
Gently pry the needles off.
Then just pull of the faces.

this is f**k

i tryed to do it, NOTHING COMES OFF.. like its as if its all superglued or bolted on,


there are screws around the black surroundin dials, but once i remove them, its still the same...

wtf should i do first??

apperently u just unscrew the 2 screws and pull the clear plastic (on the gauge face) and it just slides out?

i did it woooot!!!

loooks crazy and fkn easy as, just have to be very careful when reseting the needles.. min spedo was about 7kms off so i had to take it all off adjust it and reinstall it but it was worth it!

Looks nice. Iv had those bay $70 ones before they where ok at first but the surfance scatches easy. Also after a few months they started to warp due to the heat from the bulbs happened to my car and my mates.

The guy also cheaped out on mine and removed things like the world 'normal' from the temp guage and things like rpm x 1000 which i felt it made it look tacky.

I purchased some of the $200 ones damn expensive but quality is fantastic and they glue down to the surfance as well which stops itlighting up other sections of cluster.
