As stated, will LTD trim fit in a EF? Any dramas besides the bolsters?

cheers

If you mean the doortrims and seats, yes it will fit aside from the bolsters. Swap the LTD trim onto the EF Bolsters.

Do a search, been covered millions of times.

I'm a little confused, do you want LTD or ghia? the LTD front seats you'll need to wire up.
Something that seems to be missed, unless my seats are odd, is that the backrest uses different brackets, which I think will be a hell of a lot harder to change than the bolsters.

Sorry, LTD trim.

And just noticed this arvo that the fronts are electric and even if i changed the runners i still would not be ablle to recline the seats. These are in unreal condition for leather too.

So the rears of a LTD wont hook onto the EF either?

Hey I wouldn't be changing the runners I believe you only need a negative and positive source for them to work, just hope you got the plug for it, I know thats all we put on my mates lux when we did ba front in.
I'd love electric seats if i could, but hard to come by for reasonable prices.

Not to say you can't change the brackets and bolsters, that's what I'm playing with at the moment.

I was unaware of the bolster issue. Im sure something can be worked out.

As OZMBX also said, the seats should only need a power source to work, as In a +12V and a Ground. Not sure how much current they draw, but a relay might be an idea, triggered off the acc.

So the fronts just need positive and negative?

What exactly is the issue with the back an lower seats? And how would you fix it?

cheers

Ok lower half should just drop in like normal, but the brackets that bolt the back backrests to the car, are larger on fairlane, atleast on mine, setting it further forward, and where it wont latch up, you need to drill out the rivets and fit your old rear bracket, somehow, which is what I'm working on at the moment because you'll have have clearance issues.

Making me tempted to do up a tech doc, hopefully cut down on these threads and make others aware of the rear seat issues.
Just need the bloody time.

is it possible just to take off the material and foam and put it onto a futura or fairmont frame that has the holes for the head rests?

Yeh that happened to my EA with ED trim. I thought i didnt line it up right when i installed it and the rears just would not lock no matter how hard i smashed them back. So i just left it as they did not move forward when hitting the brakes hard. (i put it on my "to do list" to figure out but that car is gone now  )

Yeah, well I know this is the brackets, because I grabbed them back off had compared them to the seats out of it and noticed the rackets are substantially larger.
You could but how much is involved in such a process I'm not sure, I may just look into it though, but if anybody has done such I'd love to know there experiences.

i had to pull off the trim and foam when i put leather in the car. its not too hard cause i got a special tool of ebay that clips the rings on the trim but it can be done with normal pliers.

i undid the bottom wire rings and then reached up and popped the plastic trims off for the headrests and backrest lock button. theres a few more clips around the arm rest part but then the rest just slips off.

putting it all back together is just the reverse.

I'm assuming that the brackets on the fairlane seats wont bolt onto the body of the fairmont? After doing a shock and spring change in an NL, it all looks pretty familiar back there compared to my EF.
