I have been experiencing a jittering front passenger side window.

I have cleaned the old switch, replaced the old switch, use Ezy Glide and still have the problem. When it rains the bugger jams totally and will not go up or down until there is no moisture.

I have purchased a window regulator complete with cables and frame.

Some questions I like to ask

Q1. Is it an easy job to do or bit complexed?

Q2. The handbook said make sure window is up and use a block of wood to stop it falling down, is this true?

Q3. Book said to remove strip of rubber to allow window to tilt a bit so as to enable the window regulator to be removed...any truth to that?

Q4. Is that rubber strip that needs to be removed , is that inside or outside? Book is not show it.

Any assistance on this will be welcome

Regs are of moderate difficulty,

A few tips though. With the window position, up is where it needs to be when actuall removing and replacing the reg itself. However, to unclip the glass from the slider you will need it to be 2/3 down.

I use a plug I cut off a wreck with extended wires and a battery to power the reg up or down once I have stripped down the door as its annoying trying to reconnect the plugs and turning the key on and off.

You can use duct tape to hold the glass up. The rubber strips shouldn't need to be pulled out unless you have to replace the glass itself. Once you have the glass unclipped, slide it all the way up and use 2-3 strips of tape up and over the top of the door.

The geniuses used big rivets to hold the motor part of the regulator so you'll need to drill those out and get a packet of m8 bolts and nuts to bolt in the new one.

Basic steps are..

Strip the door down.

Wind glass down, use a screwdriver to unclip the glass and tape it up.

The rail is held by 2-3 bolts and the motor by the 3 rivets. Drill the rivets and undo the bolts.

The reg will need to rotate and drop and you should be able to get it out throng the larger of the 2 holes at the bottom of the door.

Slip in the new reg and position in place, use the M8 bolts and nuts for the motor and reuse the others for the rail.

Wind the slider down to the same position required to unclip the glass, slide the glass down an ensure it clips back properly.

Test the glass slide happy with the regulator then re assemble the door.

I've done a few so ask anything else you need..

Many thanks for your time in letting me know what is required in stages in removing the window regulator.

You mentioned M8 bolts, don't suppose you know the size of those bolts by any chance?

I would like to get these bolts before removing the window regulator.
