apparently it is legal to tint your rear window and back two windows as dark as you want
leaving your front two windows say darkest legal tint.
has any of you guys ever done the above ! and were you happy with the look!
or should i just stick with the darkest legal tint all round.

Depending on your local police you may get away with it as i have 15% on mine and at night its dark but still can see through all the windows but depends on if you can get away with it id stay about 20% to keep on the safe side

all windows are ment to be 35% to remain legal..
except for utes,vans(commercial vehicles)
you can get away with the rear window darker but it depends if you get pulled up on it or not??

my side windows are 35% and the rear window is the next step darker 20% and havnt really been pinned for it...
i think the darker tint is good, especially with all these wankers driving around with there super bright hid head lights.

1 more question i forgot to ask ! i already have a 35% tint on my windows wich came with the car.
all the windows have bubbled and are starting to look s**t!
is it a tedious job for me to peel all the tint off ! or do the experts have an easier way of removing it.
& the most important question ! do they charge extra to remove ya old tint. :)

they do charge more to remove the old tint but you got to make sure you get all the old glue off the glass as the more time the spend cleaning the old stuff to put the new stuff on the more it will cost you

Removing tint is a total nightmare, Its better just to pay someone to do it. 35% is too light especially if you have a light interior, 20% for rear and 28% on the sides looks good yet wont attract attention. Make sure you get a metalised film with a good warranty or it will fade and turn to crap over time.

I have had 10% on all my cars and never any issues. but then again i dont drive around thursday nights with the music blaring out with a bunch of guys hanging out the car just asking to be defected.

in regards to removing the tint, if you have a steamer it will be easy to remover the actual tint, and then your left with the residue. Even with out a steamer you can pull the tint off, its a little harder though. once the tint is off your left with the tint residue (sticky stuff) mix 50% amonnia and 50% water, after you have removed the film put this on the glass and let it sit there, about 30 min later it will be MUCH easier to get the sticky residue off. Something i saw the guy who tints my cars do and have tried it a few times now.

The tint is easy enough to remove yourself.

Get some nice sharp razor blades, light steel wool, some metho and a spray bottle, also try to grap one of those plastic scrapers with the razor blade mounted in it.

Fill your spray bottle with half metho, half water and SOAK your window tint (i took off the door trims) get your raor blade or scraper and start peeling off at the edges (if you go slow enough you can pull large amounts off in one go) to remove the tint.

Spray the window with the metho again and lightly scrub with the steel wool to remove the glue from the tint....Rinse and Repeat on all the other windows! Easy Peasy!

Hope that helps.
