My rear windows have started to give up the ghost when winding up. They wind but very slowly, and are straining until they get to about half way, then come good. Its worse when its been raining and the tracks are wet.
Question is, whats the best stuff to use to lube up the tracks? I've been thinking maybe a graphite stick or something like that... Any better suggestions? PS. EL glass is 2 mm thicker than EF glass, but the tracks are the same size, which exacerbates the problem. |

sillcone spray is the best thing to use !
and it also keeps out moisture which also helps alleviate the problem in bad weather.

Should also pull the door trim apart, get some metho and clean the channels.. They get clogged up with a lot of s**t after 8-9 years. Then use silicon spray and see how she goes.

As suggested above,remove window(easy to fair,remove door trim,handle,etc,align window with access holes to undo window from carrier,then lift out thruogh top)and degrease/clean runner.Then the product of choice(available from most retailers,REPCO,Autobarn,Super Cheap,etc)is Nulon EZI-GLIDE.Have fun and let us know how ya go................

I have similar dramas with my windows, does anybody know how much new tracks are worth?

ive heard on here to use WD-40!!! no way as it smells and rots rubber. as the smart ones say use silicone spray, with graphite its messy, im sure it works but does not repel water.

it's not the tracks that are the problem. it's the glass tilting when you wind it up. my from ones used to do it. all you have to do is adjust the glass where it bolts to the reg and you can fix it. |

i have used silicone spray and i swear by it. my windows go up and down with ease. make sure u clean the tracks first

Nulon's EZY-GLIDE!
Simple. Ive used it on windows, sunroofs, door hinges n god knows what on my cars! It didnt help my windows TOO much, but thats coz i didnt re-align them! None the less, the fbt has windows as new, no need for the stuff - however i still clean the rails out n spray it up to ensure smooth operation.

Yeah SILICONE spray I double-Swear by it. It also has 6 million other uses like when you go to bed with a woman then you................Oh, I better not go their
