Today while I was fixing the central locking dash switch on my ED GLi Classic I noticed that behind the blank panel beside the central locking switch there is a green plug and wires. Wondering what it is for? I have a sedan so I'm guessing it wouldn't be for anything tailgate related.....Could it be for an electric aerial?

the sedan and wagon looms are the same. on the EL there is one for the antenna and one for the wagon wiper. would be one of those.

Possibly, I'm not familiar with EA-ED, let us know the wiring colours and I'll look them up. shannonwulff wrote: the sedan and wagon looms are the same. on the EL there is one for the antenna and one for the wagon wiper. would be one of those. Not exactly, the plugs are for rear wipers and column shift auto econ s/w. EF/EL fairmonts or higher will have the antenna s/w. Whether the EA-ED looms go this convention, I'm not sure.

I just checked the colours of the wiring and here is what I found:
There is a green plug and from it is one red wire and 2 red wires with a black trace. All 3 wires are in a row.

Ahhh, I had a feeling it was for an electric aerial. I have a switch and it has the correct wiring loom is already fitted so now all I need is the electric aerial itself. How difficult would it fit the electric aerial? Also, Would it just be a case of plugging it in once the aerial is fitted?

Can't say I'm fully convinced - I suspect it could be the econ s/w for the column shift autos. Easy enough to resistance check with the T bar auto s/w loom.
Only thing that throws me is that both antenna and econ s/w's should only have two wires.

I thought that too, but the wiper/washer should be up near the demistor.
BTW, can you still get radox ??
